cook.book ("we," "our," or "us"), operated by Neverstill Developers LLC, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the cook.book platform, including our mobile application and website at cookbook.farm (collectively, the "Platform").

By using the Platform, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information:

• Email address, display name, username, and profile photo
• Authentication credentials (managed securely through Supabase)
• Business information if you register a business account (business name, address, phone number, business type)

User Content:

• Recipes, photos, posts, comments, reviews, and messages you create or share
• Shopping lists, meal plans, and saved collections
• Order history and reservation details

Location Data:

• Approximate location (if you grant permission) to show nearby businesses and enable location-based features
• Business address information provided by business account holders

Device and Usage Information:

• Device type, operating system, and version
• App version and build information
• Usage patterns, feature interactions, and session data
• Crash reports and performance diagnostics

Payment Information:

• Payment transactions are processed by Stripe. cook.book does not store your credit card numbers, debit card numbers, or bank account details. We retain only transaction metadata such as amounts, dates, and subscription status.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Platform and its features
• Create and manage your account
• Process transactions, subscriptions, orders, and reservations
• Personalize your experience, including recipe recommendations and feed content
• Power AI features such as recipe generation, image generation, and smart suggestions
• Send transactional communications (order confirmations, reservation reminders, account alerts)
• Send promotional communications (you may opt out at any time)
• Analyze usage patterns to improve Platform functionality and user experience
• Enforce our Terms of Service, detect fraud, and ensure Platform safety
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security including:

• Row Level Security (RLS) policies that restrict data access at the database level
• Encryption in transit using TLS (Transport Layer Security)
• Encryption at rest for stored data
• Regular security audits and monitoring

While we implement commercially reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

5. Payment Data

All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. When you make a payment or receive funds through the Platform:

• Your payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe
• cook.book never receives, stores, or has access to your full card numbers
• We retain only the information necessary to manage subscriptions and display transaction history (e.g., last four digits, transaction amounts, dates)

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Platform:

• Supabase — authentication, database, file storage, and real-time features
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
• Twilio — transactional SMS delivery (for example, reservation reminders and confirm/cancel replies)
• Expo — push notifications and app delivery infrastructure
• Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery
• xAI — AI-powered features including recipe and image generation

Each of these providers has their own privacy policies governing their handling of your data. We share only the minimum information necessary for each service to perform its function.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With service providers who assist in operating the Platform (under contractual confidentiality obligations)
• With businesses on the Platform when you place an order or make a reservation (limited to the information necessary to fulfill your request)
• With other users when you share content publicly on the Platform
• If required by law, legal process, or governmental request
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of cook.book, our users, or the public
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to you)

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won't be shared with any third parties.

8. Administrative Access

Platform administrators may access your data, including account information, content, and activity, for the following purposes:

• Providing customer support and resolving issues you report
• Investigating and enforcing violations of our Terms of Service
• Content moderation to maintain community safety and standards
• Responding to legal requests and compliance obligations
• Ensuring Platform security and preventing abuse

Administrative access is limited to authorized personnel and is exercised only when necessary for the purposes described above.

9. Messages and Communications

Messages sent through the Platform's messaging features are private between participants. However, please be aware that:

• Messages are stored on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted
• Platform administrators may access messages when necessary for content moderation, safety investigations, or responding to legal requirements
• We do not proactively monitor private messages, but we may review them in response to reports of abuse or legal obligations

Transactional SMS (reservation reminders and waitlist notices): On the reservation booking form, CookBook (Neverstill Developers LLC) collects SMS consent via an optional, unchecked-by-default checkbox (for example, "Text me reservation reminders"). Providing a phone number alone does not enroll you in SMS — a phone may be required so the restaurant can reach you about the booking. Only if you check the SMS box may we send transactional SMS related to that booking — for example reminder texts. When you separately opt in for waitlist SMS, we may also send waitlist-open notices for the business you joined. Reply YES to confirm or NO to cancel that reservation. Message frequency varies (typically one reminder per reservation). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS or HELP for help (STOP opts you out of texts; it does not cancel your reservation). Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Email marketing consent is collected separately and is not required to complete a reservation. SMS consent is also optional and is not required to complete a reservation.

10. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion — delete your account and associated data through the account settings in the app, or by contacting support@cookbook.farm
• Data Portability — request an export of your data in a commonly used format
• Opt-Out — unsubscribe from promotional communications at any time
• Withdraw Consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time

11. Children's Privacy

cook.book is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@cookbook.farm.

12. Cookies and Tracking

Our web platform (cookbook.farm) may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to:

• Maintain your session and authentication state
• Remember your preferences and settings
• Analyze usage patterns and improve the Platform

Our mobile application may use similar local storage mechanisms for session management and preferences. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

13. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within thirty (30) days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes or enforcing our agreements).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and notify you through the Platform or by email. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
